Newhouse Fishery

Had a good day at Newhouse. Ice on the ground but the fish were still active. We had a couple down the bottom end of the main lake but after working up to the top end (the shallow end) bite after bite. Lost more fish than caught. Both bagged up and a good days fishing. Sizes approx 5lb to 3lb.

Fantastic venue, peaceful quiet and very relaxing. Staff / owners are very helpful offering advice on flies and best spots to increase your chances of a catch. Plenty of fish rising. Unfortunately I was only there for a few hours whilst on holidays but would gladly return if I was in Devon again.

Another fantastic days fishing at Newhouse Fishery, and a Personal Best to boot. Peaceful surroundings only interrupted by the occasional splash of another rainbow taking a insect off the surface.First cast was a 2lb 11oz, followed by a 6lb 5 oz and a 2 lb 1oz 1oz, another four avoided the net. Has to be one of my favourite places. Looking forward to the next time.
